You'll be fine as long as you turn off the Multi-NAI in the registry. Do a search for Multi-NAI and you'll find what I"m talking about.
I'd suggest using BigJ's 1.1 ROM, it already turns off the Multi-NAI and it has the Internet Sharing application pre-loaded ![]() |

Particularly if you're using Internet Connection Sharing rather than WModem you should be ok. Basically ICS just acts as a gateway router for your bluetooth PAN or USB network connection, so it's not actually doing DUN at all (it'd be sweet to hack it to work with WiFi...)

Unlimited data is different then Phone As Modem for most every carrier, sprint and vz included. You won't get charged minutes, but you will be violating your TOS by using PAM without paying the extra for it.
Most people do it anyway, at least now and then. VZ "unlimited" data is only about 5gb/mo. FYI that's more of a service/carrier question, so its less likely to be answered here, although I'm pretty sure its come up here and there. |

I have Verizon. Any data use is a data call, Hence the #777. This is also why your data stops when and incoming voice call comes in. Data calls do not go against your minutes with data devices. and usage is measured in kb
When I added my data plan to my acount I put the tech on the spot and asked "So is it really unlimited or are you gonna call me up after so many gigs?" The tech responded with "Your account is flagged after 3gb" I agree with the previous poster about the 5gb. I'd bet that if you hit 5gb within a month they'ed just shut you off and wait for you to call and complain. Then they'ed throw the TOS book at you. |

TOS VZW
It is for sure a 5 Gig limit. The TOS for the data service is prety clear about accepted uses. If you go above 5 gigs it is assumed that you are doing something prohibitted. You can use something like Spb's GPRS monitor to keep it under control.

so basically if i understand the responses....
get the unlimited data plan use ICS on the 6700 through USB and then use Spb's GPRS on the 6700 to monitor the b/w usage? i mean i work in a call center and have a nice Toshiba laptop would be nice to get online and play WoW on lunch or breaks or check my email and what not and us im clients without worry of corp monitoring since im on MY laptop. Any way the monitoring software can alert me and disconnect the connection at a certain % or certain set limit? ie when im approaching 4.5Gbps? |
