Used phone as modem, now can't activesync

(Using BigJ's ROM if it makes any difference)

I tried using my Sprint 6700 as a modem on the desktop in place of using my normal DSL connection. I did this for a few days - it worked OK just a little slow. I guess I'll keeping paying for DSL.

I switched back to the DSL connection. Now ActiveSync won't connect. It sticks on "retrieving settings". I tried deleting the Mobile Device in ActiveSync. I tried hard resetting the phone. I tried reinstalling ActiveSync.

Any ideas on fixing it?

use this program to disable the activesync

http://micrologics.co.uk/library/ast/

once you disable it, uninstall it and then REBOOT (it wont ask you to)

install the latest activesync again (4.5)

should resolve the problem.... happens at work from time to time, its really annoying.

+++++++++++++

alternatively you can grab a REALLY old cab file from HTC that allows you to force your handset into an older compatibility mode for activesync. I have it somewhere in my archives, if you cant find it PM me and ill send you the program.

If you mean "ActiveSyncMode.sa.CAB" I also have it archived... (and uploaded to filefront)

http://files.filefront.com/ActiveSyn.../fileinfo.html

Also, You can try disabling "Advanced Network Functionality" in the "USB to PC" settings under the "Connections" tab on the PPC. (NOTE: if your using Wisbar Advanced, You will need to exit WA2 before you can open that "USB to PC" settings window, Otherwise it will crash every time you try to open it)

Once you successfully disable the "Adv. Net. Func." delete all sync partnerships from the PC and PPC, Then reconnect your PPC and attempt to sync it now. (At this point you should be set, This seems to always work for me) If everything appears to be working, go ahead and re-enable that "A.N.F." option and restart WA2. Then test one more time... the PPC should now connect properly and sync as needed.
