Odd HTC Problem

I just got a xv6700 for free from a friend who had broken it by throwing it at a wall. No physical damage, but the radio and wifi didn't work. The odd thing was that in Device Information there was no radio version information. In fact, according to the screen my phone didn't even have an ESN!

I googled and found other posts about the "radio must be connected" problem, and on a hunch I installed Kirvin AKU 3.5. It installed okay, and voila! The phone portion worked. The phone has an ESN and everything!

Or so I thought....turns out the radio only works sometimes. If I restart it sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. And there's still no WiFi, when I tap the icon it just does the sweepy thing and stays turned off.

I've narrowed it down to a software problem. I know I'm getting closer to the solution but I'm stuck now. Do you guys have any ideas as to what would be wrong with this phone?

have you tried installing the Verizon update at utstar.com?
http://www.utstar.com/pcd/downloads/...0_WWE_Ship.exe
that will reflash with all of the verizon info ie Radio and external rom. try with just that installed to see if that solves the problem if it does then you can install other roms.
