They can not "push the Data Plan". There's nno policy for the 6700 to have a data plan.

If I bought my 6700 from Alltel at a discount (contract), then yes, I would have had to have a data plan, at least for the first 6 months.

You don't need to use an xp machine... just push 3 on booting up your vista machine, and it will disable automatic device signatures and rectifies most of the issues
