Please post your ROM version and in-call volume satisfaction

Hi,

I am trying to gather some data to see if there are certain ROMs that help with the in-call volume thing. I would appreciate the following information:

1. The ROM version (including make or branding) installed currently.

2. The level of in-call volume. Please keep it simple like Excellent OR Cant hear a thing. This is the volume you hear from the phone itself when in call. Not from turning the speaker on or bluetooth headset.

3. Any history, whether the volume was bad earlier, and you did a hack or an upgrade and it improved.

4. Or whether the volume was good before, and then you updated the ROM, or installed some software, and the volume went to zero.

5. Any other pertinent information about your phone would be useful as well.

Thanks so much.

I have had crappy call volume with a stock rom (beleive it was 2.2?) and currently with BigJ's 1.6u rom.

I'm prolly going to be trying out some other roms, but from what i've gathered from the kitchen team, its not something that can be changed/fixed in the rom... its just an all around fault of the 6700.

You are correct... i keep forgetting about the non-cussing thingers on this board. I'm used to non-censored forums... guess that says something about me, lol.

Yeah, what I have found is that expecting a ROM to increase the call volume is probably expecting a lot.

It's a hardware issue, not a software issue. Can't get world class sound out of cheap speakers, no matter how good the equipment in front of the speakers is.

My volume was fine until i updated to 2.06 from Sprints website, now it is horrible which makes me think that it is NOT a hardware problem. I am waiting to try some other rom that would include a fix for the volume.

Keep up the great work guys!

dutchie,

You are absolutely right. My volume was actually ok till I upgraded to the Sprint 2.2

After that, it became AWESOME where I didnt even have it on the highest all the time.

But now, I can barely hear anyone, let alone talk on the phone without an earpiece or headset.

So I am pretty sure its not the hardware limitation and its definitely related to software. I just want to get some answers from people who have satisfactory volume with their ROMs. That would be a good place to start im my opinion.
