What could Sprint be offering on July 4th, 2007 (website)???

http://evolve.sprint.com/

Anybody post about this yet?

colonel 06-10-2007 07:39 PM

Very interesting.

dmackdaddy 06-10-2007 07:41 PM

Could it be for the HTC 6800 or the Touch?

colonel 06-10-2007 07:44 PM

definitely not touch. Might be the 6800, but that promotion seems to be more towards common users. Not pda users. Just guessing though.

angel12 06-10-2007 08:03 PM

could it be for a phone called the evolve? my bet is on a regular music playing phone, not the 6800.

andason 06-10-2007 08:15 PM

Maybe an EVDO improvement?

EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized)

budney 06-10-2007 08:46 PM

I would go for a Sprint version of Heilo's Ocean. :D

jack_2231 06-10-2007 08:51 PM

HTC Touch is my vote.

I think Touch is GSM-only, from what I have read. Looks like another toy-phone, just like that "new" device from Apple. :D

boe 06-10-2007 11:17 PM

RUIM would be a fitting thing to offer on Independence Day.

ChronoT52 06-11-2007 02:32 AM

Here's to hoping for an immediate nationwide rollout of EVDO (been paying for Power Vision EVDO service for 2 years now with no EVDO in sight, f^$#ing Shentel...)

LotekJunky 06-11-2007 02:45 AM

EVDO Rev-A

We talking wish list or are we talking reality?

Reality: Most likely some new crappy flip phone or something stupid like the Upstage that will fail miserably

Wish list: Sharp Advanced

Amazing looking phone - but no Bluetooth? Hard to imagine how they could pack every other thing into it, and leave that out.

strickly_ppc670 06-11-2007 08:37 AM

Maybe WiFi Max... They have been talking about it for a while.
That would be my best guess... Maybe an early debut in certain
cities..

No way. "Sprint will use its extensive 2.5 GHz spectrum holdings that cover 85 percent of the households in the top 100 U.S. markets to deliver WiMAX to initial markets (Chicago, Baltimore, and Washington, DC) late this year and commercially launch the service in 2Q of next year, providing service coverage to as many as 100 million people by the end of 2008. My guess is their version of the "iPhone killer" or something else that is sure to disappoint!

dmackdaddy 06-11-2007 01:07 PM

Maybe a New Motorola Q9?

angel12 06-11-2007 05:20 PM

im goin with the iphone killer. But, we already have phones that can do so much more than the iphone, so maybe the new Q

I bet you $50 that you and the wimax guy are both wrong. Any takers???

MojoSwag 06-11-2007 08:03 PM

if I had to wager, I would say that its either a new powersource "hybrid" phone that uses both cdma and iden networks, or the
blackberry that debuted on verizon that is both cdma and gsm

tech 06-11-2007 08:20 PM

i say is the end of the world lol!!! maybe is when sprint and nextel finaly one hope fully is the 6800 comes out!!!

that would be awesome. the ocean is the one phone that i would take over the 6700 or 6800...

deadhobo 06-11-2007 10:10 PM

I don't know when they switched it, but the original flash animation has really cheesy music (Can't put the link here because of spam prevention).

From what I can tell the current page will just show the following once the date is reached until they update it:
FinishMessage = "Wireless Evolution is here!";

Darkflame808 06-12-2007 12:33 AM

Maybe they are going coincide with the transformers movie release by having all their towers "evolve" to evdo rev.a

We currently have rev-a in hawaii already so I am patiently awaiting the 6800 as well. :)

dmackdaddy 06-12-2007 05:49 PM

Interesting... the site is down now!

jamesus 06-12-2007 05:52 PM

They know we're on to them!

Trident 06-13-2007 01:14 AM

Look at the website for the Touch?
http://www.htctouch.com/
Some similarities to the graphics that were on the evolve page.

andason 06-13-2007 01:31 AM

can't bring the site up.. but even if he is right : )

1. i'd be very happy.. especially if i could afford to buy it

2. why single me and wifiman out? did i mention something about having 50 bucks :P

gameboy213 06-13-2007 11:56 AM

Unlimited plans.....

MojoSwag 06-13-2007 02:48 PM

It is either gonna be the unlimited plans, which have been testing out in Cali for almost a year now, AND the release of the Moto Razr2

boyo 06-19-2007 04:31 AM

403 Forbidden.
Looks like the site is gone.

runt 06-19-2007 11:06 AM

403 forbidden right now

ChronoT52 07-02-2007 03:22 PM

Figured I'd call this back to attention judging the 4th is approaching.

mori 07-02-2007 04:55 PM

both sprint and verizon better come out with something new/better/equal

to the iphone ui,,, and pls notice I say ui not phone.

4 Door Skyline 07-04-2007 01:05 PM

I think all it was is the site remodel....BOO SPRINT!!

jonwlewis 07-05-2007 02:05 AM

On July 4th, I also noticed a new Blackberry on the Sprint site. That could be it too.

ChrisFix 07-05-2007 08:37 AM

Check out this forum...I think they have it right:
