Is my phone a brick now?

Ok i have an HTC Apache from verizon, with no cool add ons. the other night it randomly gave me just a white screen and then it whent off. I plugged it in because i thaught it might be the battery but to my supprise it didnt turn on and the only thing that happend was that the little indicator light on the top right corner turned red. I have tryed pressing the restart button but nothing happend. Any suggestion of how I could get my ppc back on line or has my phone now turned in to a paperwheight?
