Sweet! I hope to hear good reports. Come to the Dark Side! Everyone else has a GPS unit. (And any other peer pressure you can think of to get you all to buy one.) Make your friends jealous. It cures cancer!

Ok. This has prolly been hashed over many times. Why can't the gps in th xv6700 be used for gps programs?
There is gotta be a way to hack into it.
If you run the field test program it has a gps screen. Mine shows all n/a. I know you sprint users have a code so you can see it. But I am verizon and have not found out how to get it to work...
There just has to be a way to hack into that screen or something so you don't have to buy a seperate device.
Does anybody know anything about this???

i think its mainly because none of the programs were built to recognize the 6700 gps function since it wasnt intended to be used, so even if u hack it( which u can, malatesta can help u out there) the progman, such as telenav or garmin, wont be able to use it unless u hacked that too. just a suspicion but that seems right

I'm not sure about this, cuz if this was true, of course u know I would do it and write up a nice tutorial. But I've never found any info regarding it, making me believe its next to impossible. But hey I could be wrong...

Well I just got back to Ohio and I am proud to say, the unit worked without a flaw. (I am even more proud to say that I am now happily married, but that is another thread. Thanks for the well wishes too!) Anyway, I had just installed the latest version of iguidance and it works 100% better than 2.14 did. It shows current speed, ETA, and hours and minutes left on the trip all at once...previous version let you cycle through those options. So far, that has been my best purchase for my phone.
