Changing the Boot Screen (not welcomehead.96.bmp)

Can anyone please lemme know a working way to change the very first logo screen which also contains your hardware info. I've checked out several websites which say how to do it, but they arnt working. Any advise would be helpful. TY.

Tried that method, and it didnt work. messed up the rom. Im using BigJ's rom, and love it, just wanted to change the 2 sonic images to something else, changed the welcomehead, but still no avail, on the boot one. I even tried the wizsplash program, and it just errored out writing the image

Go to the download section and search for apachesplash. You run the program on your PC while your 6700 is connected via Activesync and it will change the first splash screen.

You also have to make sure to follow all the directions.
There is a small file that needs to be on the PPC to allow Apachesplash to run correctly. [EnableRAPI.cab] And the images must be in the proper format and the correct size.

it is worth noting that welcomehead96 has a .png extention. NOT .bmp as noted in the thread subject
