Memory Card freezing xv6700

Now i have searched here and googled it and havent come to a conclusion. could have sworn i have seen it hee before, but cant find i now. My phone locks up when i put in my memory card, and instantly ulocks when i remove it. Reformated the card in my computer, took off wm6.1 and put back on wm5... nothing. could it be an issue with my memory card or mini adapter? Just trying to figure out if i should get a new memory card or just get a new phone....

I would get a different brand card. For one reason they are cheap and it is the cheapest way to resolve your issue.

Make sure the card you are using is 2GB or under... unless you enabled a larger card when you cooked your rom.

Also check to make sure that when you cooked your 6.1 you added support for SD cards at all. Drivers to support this functionality are not built in at the start. It would look something like this in the kitchen:
*SD Card Support Only
*SDHC and SD support

Cook again and see what happens.

Is this the first card you've ever tried in your machine? Does the card say SDHC on it? See if you can't try someone else's different-branded card. If you don't know anyone that has one, you can easily go into a VZ store (I assume that's who you're using) and the tech ppl will have a good card they can put in. Don't worry about having messed w/ your phone, you pay them for their wireless service, and you're just trying to check the slot, anyway. It's your phone, even if you're under a contract. They want your business.

Also, your slot could be dirty. Kinda easy for dirt to accumulate, the slot not being covered and all.

OK the proble started out after i accidentally mixed up storage cards with my frind. she put mine in her palm centro and i had hers in my apache... i have the sdhd option and the card was only two gig anyways... dont know it the adapter went bad or my phone. my memory card works in my computer, but as soon as it goes in the mini adapter and in my phone it freezes. hers does it to. I know the memory card works. I ordered a new card wih a new mini adapter. if thats not it off to verizon i go... the guy mentioned to me before cuz i cant get insurance on the phone that i only have to pay $50 to get another one. Is that true? I kinda hope its not my phone, unless they want to give me a xv6800 that is....

Oh yeah and it does this even with verizon wm5 flashed back on it so i know it is not my rom build...

Ok, so you have a 2gig SDHC card, right? And by "her's does it too" do you mean, she puts her MicroSD card into your MiniSD adapter, and that in your phone doesn't work, either?

Another question. Does your phone "freeze up", every time a card is put in, no matter whose card, no matter which WM (5 or 6)?

Another question. Have you tried a card yet in your phone without (what I assume is) your MicroSD-to-MiniSD adapter (if I understand that right) since after this all began ?

One point: SDHC will not work in WM5 (at least, I couldn't find anywhere -- and I searched for hours literally -- where someone had made it work). And if you install the SDHC driver, no cards will work (just uninstall it. Again, we're talking about WM5 right now). But i don't think it locked up my phone, when I tried it (before upgrading to WM6.1 w/ SDHC driver installed).

No mine is NOT sdhc... i only have one mini-micro adapter and n one sells just that... i ordered a sdhc card with adapter so when that get here i can try that one.... But no cards work in my adapter in my phone, so its either phone or adapter.

Has it always done this with your phone? Even after hard resets/ROM reflashes?

And does YOUR card do it in other phones?

If your card does it in other phones then its definitely the card.
