Can't make/recieve calls - 'cprog' is not a valid app.

So after a lot of digging around, I found my CD with my copy of the threaded SMS .cab file. I acquired this before I ever owned a 6700. some good foresight on my part I must now say

I've googled this for three days now. Dug through XDA, ppcgeeks, ppc6700users, and I've not found a report of this issue.

Anyway. I install the .cab, move the /ProgramFiles/Palm/*.* files to the /Windows/*.* directory.

Do all my soft resets.

Now either I'm missing a step here, or I need to edit something, or I'm just plain stoopid, but after a few tries, after the reset, trying to bring up the dialer will result in an error dialog that says:

" 'cprog' is not a valid Pocket PC application."

Along with my menu bar showing my signal meter with an exclamation point. Tapping that shows me that I have 'No Service'. Although web browsing via 1x (stupid, Sprint, nerrrg, no EVDO around here. RAWR), WiFi work fine, as do SMS sending/recieving. BTW, I might mention that the threaded SMS is working flawlessly during this time :P

Naturally, I can bring up my contacts list, but nothing happens when I tap an entry.

Thus, I hard reset, and try, try again.

But now I think I need to rely on some more advanced help. I've only had this phone for two-three weeks so I know there are many, many people who are much more familiar with it then me.

I'm running Kirvin's 3.5_NoJunk ROM with the JPL_VistaII dialer.

With all this, good thing I have a lot of hair, no worries about going bald as I rip it out...

Now, I just need to get that MobiTV working....

As for the poll.... well. We might as well have some fun.

assuming it s beta 4 of the palm sms app. There should have been a readme file saying if your aku was > that 3.3 not to move the files into /windows. If you made backups restore else punt and hard reset.

Excellent. I didn't have the text file with the archive I had. Your solution has me up and running.

Thank you very much!
