Way to get passed a phone lock?

We had an employee quit, basically with no notice and just mailed us her phone. I powered it up today and she has a password on it. its a verizon 6700 if that makes a diffrence from the sprint.

anywho, is there a way to get around the password? other than doing a hard restart?

Thanks!

What's the big deal with doing a hard reset unless you want to snoop through her personal data?

Its not her personal data. company phone with company files, we deal with drug abuse and suicide prevention and we need access her client files that she kept on her phone. Its not a case of gee i wonder what kind of naughty things i can find on her phone.

in the US she is legaly required to divulge her password to you upon her termination as you not having it is undue burdon. Same thing applies if you quit and dont leave your boss all the root/administrator passwords so the next guy can do the job. Otherwise, i'd call customer service and see if they know a trick. I would be inclined to think (hope actually) that MS is not stupid enough put a back door in to the unlock app.

Hope it helps

just curious but does the password prevent exploring the phone's file system via activesync? I'd say give it a shot. Connect it and hit explore. You should be able to see her files in "My Documents" and you could even grab her contacts/calendar/etc from the pim.vol file.
