please help me with buildos....

hey guys...just found this site and really want to upgrade my bootloader version 1.0 alltel ppc6700 to wm6.1. I downloaded build os and updated it, then updated it again for all the apache stuff. I got a bunch of .zip files. I want to install the helmi wm 6.1 file, but when I click on the zip it says "found .rar" then it says it didn't find the sys directory or the oem dir or ppc oem dir and so nothin loads. on the little build status window that opens, the last line says "no dsm file: user oem/oem" I unzipped the files and tried to click on the kitchen config. txt and build os says found kitchen config 9.01 but build os needs selections version.90.2" I am a lost! I read the help file all the way through and it says nothing about this. I am running win xp pro and need some help from you guru's! I want wm 6.1 on my 6700! any help would be much appreciated.

Re: please help me with buildos....

I wouldn't recommend u going into 6.1 but anyways, since that was not your question I'd say just read the kitchen sticky, u shouldnt go unzipping the files.. unless u wanna individually install .cabs but by running the BuildOS.exe should be pretty ez and straightforward.. hope i helped!

Re: please help me with buildos....

thanks for the reply. I didn't unzipp the files untill it wouldn't load them onto buildos. It should be easy..I wonder whats wrong. when I click on the .zip file it will say found .rar but then it says it can't find any other directories...so it doesn't load....

Re: please help me with buildos....

The problem is that the Helmi kitchen isn't compatable with BuildOs anymore. I believe that's what gguruusa said. I don't personally use Helmi anymore. I use LennySh. And what is your reason for not going to 6.1 Boritato? WM6.1 or even WM6 makes WM5 look like trash.

Re: please help me with buildos....

I run helmi's WM6.1 on my ppc 6700 (in new zealand) and it is amazing, faster than WM5 and the A2DP for bluetooth actually works!!!! and almost flawlessly :P i did upgrade in june and have been using it since then. Even watched a movie on it last night.
Anyway you do get short of space, just install only essentials onto NTFS and ur fine, everything on storage card is way to go my friend.
Lennysh stuff is good, i really need to donate to these guys, but not until christmas time no money until i stop studying and get a summer job.
Go with lennysh i use his cube and its good (and free)!

Ah yes, weedahoe. Me and him will disagree on these things. I personally just don't like WM5. I have a very fast and stable 6700 with WM6.1 And also the OS is not just inteded for 128 phones. The 6800 is still 64 and has WM6. One of the bigest thing for me is HTML e-mail and push mail over WiFi.

Re: please help me with buildos....

Crap. just to add to this thread beacuse I couldn't find whereelse to post it.. i tried to open my buildOS and it is expired, i tried to download both via the updater and through the links in this site, but every time I try I get an unable to contact server error (updater), server down error (site) or similar.
Can anyone else download? im lookin at getting a corrupt apache and re-flashing it for my m8 and even though i can still re-flash id rather get then newest rom for him first

Re: please help me with buildos....

Two reason I've seen this happen:

1. IE 8 is installed, Remove it.
2. Your firewall/proxy blocked you.
