n00b needing help - switching VZW 6700 to Alltel

I just stumbled across this site this week and what ppl are doing with these phones is simply awesome. So on to my stupidity issue -

How do I activate my Verizon XV6700 on Alltel? I've tried some searching but I guess I don't know the right terms to search for...

Next question tho is probably just as dumb...but here it is - how do I find out what the Alltel SID for my area is?
Update 2: I found this list - http://www.theroamingzone.com/sid/ Seem like a good list to go by?

So I followed the instructions in the first update but it doesn't seem to be working. When I dial 611 it still puts me to verizon. Anyone have an idea of what I'm doing wrong?

If your using a verizon tower you'll get verizon when dialing 611.. Like me I have Alltel but where I live I use a verizon tower. If I want to dial 611 or any of those codes I have to wait till I am in the city where I use the alltel tower.

Also, if you want your local sid just call alltel and ask. They will tell you the one your supposed to be using.

Have you actually called alltel and had that phone activated?

I had my number ported over to alltel and got my esn activated with alltel (supposedly) but now when I try to call out I get a verizon message saying I can't compete the call. When someone tries to call me it goes straight to a generic alltel voicemail. Ideas?

Fixed - I had to download my prl for alltel from http://www.the-answerman.com/sidlist/prl/index.asp and put it on the mem card to update the phone.

So I'm sending and receiving calls and texts now, but I can't get internet yet. I know they set me up with it on my plan so its gotta be my phone settings. Anyone have any ideas?

Oh I am sorry I skimmed over your post. Here I've attached 2 files in a zip. The Alltel PPST and the Alltel DCD cabs. Install one of them and that should fix your internet (I hope)...

Thank you SOOOOO much. I was trying to download the alltel specific cabs from another thread but it was asking me for a user and pass for the ftp...
