the new logo does look better, but for me the white lights look like its easier to see with them. you can bearly see whats on the kets at night with the blue light

I haven't done it myself so I can't tell you if it works or not. Let see if other members here had any hands-on experience with this hack.

Yeah, to the OP: the "original" Red Label 6700 is considered in some communties a badge of honor :D as a sign of an early adopter.

on top of that, the consensus is that the white keyboard lights are much easeir to read and use than the "new" blue LEDs.

Plus, you don't have to worry about the ring-through hack, etc.

If you're only beef is with the logo, I suggest getting your self a pack of generic eGrips from Radio Shack (black) and cover 'em up. You'll block your logo, make the device look cooler and it'll be grippy. Win-win.

eh, I guess?

I would still take the better functionality of the keyboard lights over a silly logo any day...

plus see my thread on MyTego skins which would not only make the 6700 look cooler but cover up that logo.

plus, its much harder to get the white lights(old logo) then the new logo

Hope you haven't made that swap yet. I have an older new 6700 and the ring through fix worked fine for me, but I too have read that it doesn't work on the post-April phones. I haven't heard if there is a fix for that issue yet, so you may want to be sure of the one you are getting. I am sure you friend won't mind too much looking at some of the phones before giving you one. I just know that I have started relying on the phone to ring no matter what I am doing, and I would hate to lose that.

Here is my story, I had the 6600 anyone else have this POS and I was so ready to get rid of it that I was on the Sprint accessories line the morning the 6700 came out. I got one of the first ones out. I enjoyed telling people how the old logo showed I was in innovator. then tragedy struck I dropped it and broke the joystick, nothing I could do had to get another. Wish I still had the old one. Also the white keys are harder to see than the blue, block the letters out in direct light. 8)

Have you done the EV-DO ring through on your new one? (I had the 6600 as well, can't say that I hated it though... came from a Treo-600).

Ring through works fine and I got my new one back in april I think, it was just before the ROM update came out. My referb was built in 11/05 so I am good to go. The only thing about the 6600 I hated was the loosing of the memory.
