Problems with ActiveSync... Help me!!

I'm having problems sync-ing to my PC... I reinstalled ActiveSync 4.1. I even installed 4.5, and no luck.

Does anyone know what the problem might be?

Any help would be appreciated!

What is the error you are getting?

pvelliqtc 04-26-2007 01:04 PM

ActiveSync 4.1 doesn't give any error message... it just keeps trying to connect, but never does.

ActiveSync 4.5 gave a message something like "device is not connected".

I didn't change any settings on my PC or my PPC.

have you soft reset your PPC?

try giving us a little more information to go off of.

-What operating system
-what version of outlook
-wich version of activesync gives what error
-does your phone still charge?

You may have a broken port, its a design issue with the device. If it charges though, then the port works fine (charging uses all 4 connectors on the port).

If it is charging, then please respond to the above questions and well take it from there.

I, too have found that, after loading ppcgeeks 3.5aku nojunk that I can't sync for contacts or calendar. I used sbpbackup and have tried reinstall just the PIM. Its almost like there is no mobile outlook installed. When I try to sync to my pc I get a connection and "explore" the ppc but it won't download or update the data on the ppc. I get an error code 80070057. I did have partial sucess on another try. I did do a reset before the verizon "customization" routine and that may have screwed things up. Any suggestions would be welcome.
So far the new aku has sped things up beautifully. Thanks for all you do for us.

If you are upgrading from a ROM 2.X, then you have to resync your contacts via activesync for the first time. There were DB changes from AKU 2.x to AKU 3.x, so you can't just restore them.

Thanks Jamesus. I hate to be a dumby but how do I resync?? I have deleted the partnerships but it doesn't seem to have the correct effect. I guess I have to delete the files from the PPC and I am not sure which they are. I'm sorry to be such a novice.

Thanks for your help.

Graeme

Try uninstalling Activesync and reinstalling the newset version (4.5 I think). If that doesn't work, try hard resetting your device. Let us know how that goes and we'll go from there!

It still charges... Windows mobile 5.0 on PPC and XP on PC...
Newest Outlook... As far as the error, the old version doesn't give an error, it just says 'connecting' forever. The newer version gives the error message.
