Lost my radio today for some reason.

I tried the steps above but the update just stays at the Upgrade Radio Stack Please Wait...

After about 5 minutes it take me through a RUU recovery procedure.. resetting device.. boot mode and trying again.. no luck

I can flash the rom and the phone will boot up but the radio is none.

Any suggestions?

Did you take the storage card out first?

on the first few attempts i did not... then i reread the destructions for mtty and tried again i can write the ce rom / extended rom but the radio just stays stuck. the original sprint rom won't write.. it says communication error. i tried copying the nk.nbf to a noID setup but it won't write the original sprint rom.

so now i'm stuck with a 3.5 rom, no radio and probably can't take it to sprint for swap / repairs.

andason, find us tomorrow in the chat room. We can help you there. Worst case, we will get the Sprint rom back on so you can take it in.

I'd try using a different USB cable & different USB ports.

Other than that & following the instructions EXACTLY- I don't know what else to do.

Write back if you get it to work.

Just an update:

It appears my radio is completely dead. After trying several tricks suggested by luv2chill and colonel and the above mentioned by Raging Idiot, I finally took my ppc to sprint. Sprint informed me that as of 6/6/07 they no longer repair phones and that I would have to call CS / Insurance. I did that and the Sprint CS on the phone was trying to tell me to take it to my nearest sprint (which is where i was at when i was calling them) for repairs. So to make a long story short I finally got a hold of a tech support (around midnight) by the name of James who tried a few tricks (didn't work though) and HE should be hooking me up with a new phone soon. He suggested that the chip also appears dead since the flash can not see it.

I was able to get the original sprint rom back on thanks to the luv2chill. I hope sprint doesn't want this phone back.. it will make an awesome spare gps / wifi internet cruiser. : )

I had the same "none" issue come up once. Oddly enough I paid my bill online which generated a text message to the device that was magically recieved. After a soft reset, the radio was listed again. Prior to that nothing worked, including flashing and doing steps like listed above. I thought it was a brick for sure. I had already requested a warranty replacement that I just ended up returning.

When I try to upgrade my phone, it stays at the "Stage 1:Updating Radio"

Then I get an error, ERROR 114 RADIO ROM UPDATE ERROR.

no radio again

Ok fellas,

It happened to me again. Twice in a couple of weeks. The only thing that has really been different is that I have added a 2GB mSD card. (My 6700 now functions as my IPOD (really MP3) as well!). I also added backup software.

The phone mode was not functioning properly and I did a soft reset. This put me into no radio mode when I had it before the s reset!! I did a hard reboot and the radio none came upon boot up.

This time I also got the 114 error when downloading the ROM. I did some hard resets and soft resets and then went EXACTLY through the procedure and it worked like a champ again. So, if it is not working, try some hard resets and make sure you are following the directions.

Since this has happened twice, I am worried there is some condition that loses the radio ROM software. Anybody have any idea what this could be?
