In Settings/System. Enjoy.

Re: How to HTC Performance software
OK...There's a "Performance" icon. If that's it, when I tap on it to launch, nothing happens. What's supposed to happen?
|
Re: How to HTC Performance software
When you tap it the program should open and look like this

Re: How to HTC Performance software
BTW, when I uninstall HTC Performance, the performance Icon is still in the Systems folder. I don't see any program in the the system's folder or any other icon that says "HTC Performance."

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Hmm. Maybe you got a bad cab. Try this one Here.
|
Re: How to HTC Performance software
PDAPhoneJunkie, tried the cab you suggested and same results. Maybe I'm looking for the wrong program on screen. Can you send me a screenshot of the HTC Performance icon I'm supposed to click on to get it runing? Thanks.

Can anyone recomend another FREE overclocking utility? I used XCPUScaler and was spoiled by the improved performance. I don't want to sound cheap, but money is tight and if I can safe $20 by getting a free application to tweak my Apache's CPU speed, I'll do it. |
Re: How to HTC Performance software
Hmmm, what OS you using?

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Well then forget about overclocking. Cause your batterey is more than likley gonna go down the drain. Upgrade to WM6/WM6.1 you will love it!
|
Re: How to HTC Performance software
I tried one of the trialware overclocking programs (XCPUScaler, I think) and the battery did well.
I'd like t obe able to get HTC Performance working, however. Any other ideas? |
Re: How to HTC Performance software
Yep, flash with a kitchen and add the HTC Performance. That's what I do...
|
Re: How to HTC Performance software
PDAPhoneJunkie Thanks for your continued support. I have a feeling that HTC Performance only works with WM 6. I like the idea of reflashing my XV6700. However,
1. I'll be getting my second refurb in the mail from VZN in three weeks, so I don't know now many more I'll need to get before I get a stable WM5 one. 2. If I flash my phone with a WM 6.1 kitchen, can I flash it back to a WM 5 in case I have to return it? (I suspect the answer lerks somewhere in PPCGeeks) 3. I tried a while back to flash it, but something went wrong in the process and I aborted part way through. I'm very new at the flashing stuff. 4. Can you give me some very simple steps on what I need and how to flash the thing? I wont bother you any more. Thanks a meg. |
Re: How to HTC Performance software
Meg, no worrys about bothering me. I always will provide support to the best of my ability.
1. Why is it taking three weeks to get a replacment? They usally do two day shipping. Free of charge. 2. Yes you can flash back, no need to though, I never have sent Verizon a replacment. 3. Probably because USB COnnections were still on. 4. Watch my videos on how to flash. Very simple but enough to get you where you desire, link in my signature. Enjoy! |

What I meant was, I got my first refurb 3 weeks ago. Started self-rehardsetting. In fact, it did it for the VZN guy at the store. then he ordered me another "new one". 2. Yes you can flash back, no need to though, I never have sent Verizon a replacment. I got the refurb an hour ago, so now I have two 6700 at home. Before I send the old one back, I'd like to try flashing it to make sure I can do it. Can you tell me how to flash it back to WM 5? Thanks again. |

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Spend the money and buy Wizcode's Pocket Hack. Not only can you set the cpu speed and/or dynamic speed, but you can override cpu speed on specific apps. I set it to run at max speed when Opera is in the foreground. It helps alot! And it responds quickly to cpu speed changes.

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Use the link in jabu's signature to get Old VZW ROM.

I just posted a question (which I probably should have asked you first): How do I customize a ROM to include Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications? If you can help...Great. Also...Is there an advantage to your IPhone interface vs IFonz (cost is not part of the question/answer). |
Re: How to HTC Performance software
Glad to hear that.
You need to select those apps in the kitchen. My theme is a skin for WA/WAD. iFonz is an app. There are a lot of things different about mine. iFonz has smaller icons and I personally don't care for the fonts it has. I use cleartype for mine. Mine is customizable and you can change out where the button goes to, I think iFonz might do that too. You might want to watch my demo as well as the ones for iFonz. Since iFonz is an app, for me, it is too unstable and can be closed too easy. My skin won't shut and the taskbar is the same in all windows, I'm not sure but I think the iFonz one will change in other apps to the stock. It's all about your choice and preffrence. For me though I just think iFonz is a little plain and the calendar icon has some text that looks off. Anyways. Both themes are great. Just a matter of personal taste, as I say with eveything. |

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Hi, well of all days the webhost is down :( I tried to get to their forum and it's offline too. I can get it to you via e-mail if you'd like. It uses WA/WAD. But I have found that even with those two programs running it didn't slow down my phone like iFonz did when I was testing that. I think it's because iFonz is in flash.

Re: How to HTC Performance software
PDAPhoneJunkie, looking at your video demo at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WkeyH...EBF07C&index=0 your phone is very fast and snappy. Even with the recent tweaks I've made, it's no where near as fast. Can you tell me what you've done to make your so fast? No rush on this...take your time.
By the way, since you've been so helpful, I'm inclined to buy your IPhone theme...Just need to know how to get it. |

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Rome, you need to get the serial codes for WA/WAD at lakeridgesoftware.com I give you a cab for WA2 since he no longer oferrs that though.
Thanks for the complement. I just overclock to 624 and use WM6 rom I made using the kitchen. |

Now, let me get straight what I need to do to use your skin. Do I have to buy WA and WAD? Then buy your skin? Thanks again. |

Re: How to HTC Performance software
Unless you have a version of HTC Performance that is different from the one in the Kitchen, you can't use it to set the CPU to 624 MHz w/o dynamic. Un-clicking the dynamic check box turns the software off. When it is checked it will dynamically overclock to 520 or 624 MHz. If it is off it will run at the rated CPU speed of 420 MHz.

Try Pocket Hack Master from Wizcode. I use it to force CPU speed through the roof while running Opera.

Note: or maybe I will, I'm starting to shop around for a 6800 myself.... |
Re: How to HTC Performance software
It has to do with the different processor the 68 uses. And I dont think it is going to get resolved any time soon. As long as the 68 has been out and no one has managed to OC it leads me to believe it isnt going to happen.
|
Re: How to HTC Performance software
Meh, I'll either OC it or break it trying! lol
|
Re: How to HTC Performance software
Yep, I am very disapointed that the 6800 can't be OC'd. It runs better than my 6700 did stock but not better after my 6700 was OC'd. Anyhow, I think that since the Mogul is getting old and people are moving on to Touch Pro or Diamond, it just made more of a reaso not to spend time. It also doesn't look like the Mogul will have as much life as the Apache has...
