Re: New to Apache-modding, but want WinMo 6.1...

So, does BuildOS already have a ROM in there that I can customize and use? Rather, do I just select what I want in my ROM, build it, and export it to my device?

No, you need a kitchen. Like the Helmi kitchen. Then you load the config file and select what you want.

Re: New to Apache-modding, but want WinMo 6.1...

The deed is done. My Apache is more than I ever thought it would be -- with FTouchFlo, PCMKeyboard, and that wonderful (and free) big digital clock for my Today Screen. Threaded text messaging is awesome, and I love e-mail pushed right to my phone.

Ahhh.

I'm in the same boat as you. Only I dumped WM6.1 (at least for now) and am using WM6 kitchen. I just gotthe Palm Threaded SMS app. It rocks! I should have listened to WAH when he first reccomended it.

Why'd you ditch 6.1 for 6.0? I'm not saying it's a bad thing (indeed, if the Palm app is better I might do the same ).

Because there is a tremendous wakeup lag. It's even worse when I use S2U2. I'm lovin WM6 for now!

Re: New to Apache-modding, but want WinMo 6.1...

Huh. That's cool, I've noticed that 6.1 is considerably faster on wakeup and on bootup than the default Sprint WM5 ROM. The volume control actually works in the same century that I hit the button, too. I may give 6.0 a try if needbe... is there anywhere that I can see screenshots of the Palm threaded texting application?

Well, anything is faster than WM5! A Palm device is better than WM5, lol, not! Google is your friend for Palm SMS.
