Hi everyone. You know when you sign onto the forums, and it tells you how many guests are browsing the forums, next to a list of users in general? Yeah, one of those was most probably me. At long, long last, the lurker finally comes out of the woodwork.
I have a Sprint PPC-6700 running Windows Mobile 5.0. It's a completely stock PPC-6700, as a matter of fact, with the yellow Sprint logo. It's been an absolutely stellar device for the almost-two-years that I've owned it, and because the thing seems to keep on kicking, I'm content to keep it for another two years (even though the up-and-coming HTC Touch Pro/HD whets my appetite). Because of this, I'd like to know how to breathe some new life into my device with Windows Mobile 6.0/6.1, if possible -- and yes, being well-versed in forum etiquette, I've looked. No offense, but there are just a bunch of threads about kitchens and ROMs and, well, frankly, stuff that doesn't mean all that much to me given that my knowledge regarding OS upgrades is pretty much limited to PC's (which involves putting a disk in and booting from it).
I really just have no idea where to begin. Is it possible to make a ROM that has only the software I want in it? What about SDHC support, I've done some searching around here and found that there IS a driver that allows the 6700 to read SDHC cards, does that driver and SDHC card work with WinMo 6.0/6.1? Is there anything I should be worried about, or especially careful of while upgrading? Will I notice a significant increase or decrease in stability? Is the camera application faster than the continent of North America in WinMo 6.0/6.1?
Where do I even begin?
Thanks.
