6700 Case

What case is people using for there 6700?

I am still using the OEM Verizon magnetic case, which at times causes the phone to turn on; unless I lock the unit.

I use this one...very happy with it.

Do a search too, I know there was a thread a few weeks back that talked about cases.

Doesn't the Mini SD card pop out when you take the phone out of the clip?

For me it doesn't take much pressure to pop my Mini SD out and that clip goes right over the Mini SD.

That looks nice and I like the way the clip rotates but I usually put my 6700 in the VZW pouch so that the screen is facing inside.
I feel that it protects the screen more this way and less likely to hit it on a table corner or something like that.

Any one seen one like this that allows you to put the 6700 in 'backwards'?

Just read more of the description on that belt clip. Guess this one DOES hold the 6700 inward instead of like the rest. Thanks for the link. Going to order one today.

I went with the battlestar:

You can drop kick the sucker in that case w/o damage* Well, at least you can drop it 3' onto cement without a problem. You do need to be optimized for stylus-free use or you'll get tired of popping the case open all the time.

* you can't drop kick the sucker in this case, and if you do, you can't sue me when it breaks

Not even once. I think they may have made improvements in the design over time.

Just a heads up.. A co-worker of mine a couple years ago had a similar case for his PDA and was crossing the street one day and the case popped off the screw in swivel clip!!

He was, however, an idiot... So he probably just didn't screw it in far/tight enough, but just a heads up.. I would recommend throwing some of the teflon tape stuff in there to be "doublysure"

If you do a search for the origional case thread you will find that the metal cases were not very good. Many complained about the whole swivel clip, and how the phone would pop out of the case while on their hip or after a fall. :(

I've not had problems with either, and I've had mine for a couple months - actually both the wife and I have one - maybe they've gotten better?

At any rate, the case has a foam lining that will hold the phone in even with the door open - you literally have to pry it out via the antenna bob. And the clip thing, that one I attached with a spot of superglue - guess I'm paranoid.

Anywhoo, just about any case is better then the 5 cent thing they ship with it.

The latch on the metal cases pretty much blows.
I lost my first 6700 to one of these. Had it on the swivel clip on my belt, tripped on some uneven sidewalk, and the force of me tripping popped open the latch and flung the 6700 out of the case and onto the ground. There goes my screen and the battery flew out too.

The clip kept my case attached to my hip though, so that was nice.

I only use the metal case when I'm going to put the phone in a pocket. I'm using the Seidio leather holster now for when I want the phone on my hip.

I find the metal case prevents crushing and scratching better, but the leather case keeps the phone secured on my hip and absorbs short falls better.
