reception question (may be dumb)

Heya guys, names jason and im a No0B, but i just got the ppc 6700 with alltel got the phone from ebay, loving it so far. i had a quick question i done searches and stuff for my problem and still cannot figure it out.

i am a Moto guy and i know the reception was set cannot mess with how much or little it gets on bars.. well i got this phone and the reception was pretty decent and i got it activated and i get 1 to 2 bars at my house, as where my moto e815 and v710 get almost full.

so main question i have is there any kinda of wierd loop hole to get software updates (rom's i belive??) to fix this or should i send it back and get a new one, OR is this normal ??

thanks for any kinda help loving all the info i am gettin and continuing to look up stuff all day long haha ..

jason

Bars don't mean anything. There is no standard measurement for what a "bar" is. A while back cell phone manufacturers got word in that customers liked seeing lots of bars so sometimes they added more bars, even while the actual amount of signal stays the same.

So 5 bars on your motos is probably more or less the same amount of signal as 2 bars on your 6700. As long as you aren't dropping calls you're fine.
