You don't want the 700w. Not after coming from the 6700. At the VERY least your going to want the 700wx, because of the memory problem. At the very best you want the 750 which will be upgradeable to the Windows Mobile 6 in the very near future (this has been reported by Palm themselves). My girlfriend has the original 700w and it has the bare minimum 32MB of RAM and 64MB of storage, compared to your 6700 now which has 64 and 64. Your not going to be able to run anything on it.

And the 700wx is actually within .02% of the size & weight of the 6700, can't imagine it would survive a drop any better. All Cameraphones suck, there is just not much you can do with $0.05 "optics" (ie, the plastic lens) and a ccd the size of the head of a pin.
I seem to be immune to the 'need something new' syndrome. That, or I'm just too cheap. If you do make the switch, let us know how you like it. You could always wait for the 6800. |

After coming from the 6600, this is small compared to that. All in the eye of the beholder.......

i went from the 700wx to the 6700. i thought i would like the treo form factor, and it was $100 cheaper at the time. I used it a day, hated it. The keyboard was so tiny i had to concentrate on what i was pressing. I had a 6600 before the treo, so i just decided to go with the bigger screen and bigger keyboard. Stick it out man, with all the roms out there for the 6700, it has numbed my need something new syndrome for the time being

I just switched from a treo 700wx to a 6700. (Used 700wx for ~4 weeks)
Note the 240x240 screen is NOT compatible with a lot of pocketpc applications. If you use pocketpc apps more than the phone part, stay with the 6700. You won't be able to run most games simply b/c you can't see the missing pixels. I found the 700wx's keyboard very nice for one handed typing, but too small for fast two handed typing. If you only use the 6700 for phone and occasional email, then a Q or blackjack might be better. I have a friend that just switched from a 6700 to a Q b/c he didn't use all the features. The treo is almost the same weight and size as 6700. (actually "feels" heavier in a pocket) If you can stand the screen (and it ruling out lots of apps), then maybe go for the 700wx. |
