PPCKitchen.org down... is there a mirror?

PPCKitchen.org seems to be down. Is there a mirror?

I'm finally completely fed up with my XV6700 locking up all the time with the original Verizon ROM and was hoping to update to 6.1 to see how it works.

Re: PPCKitchen.org down... is there a mirror?

You can download from PPCkitchen.org And yes get rid of sotck/WM5 rom. I can't tell you how much hair I lost because of horrible battery life/ lockups/ slugishness/ lack of features. One of which just wasen't posible to add.

That's the problem, PPCKitchen.org is down. You can't get to the site. The DNS server isn't responding with an IP address.

Do you know of a mirror where I can download the required files?

Re: PPCKitchen.org down... is there a mirror?

not so much of a mirror, but you could look here ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Apache/

I also get dns error going to ppckitchen.org. probably why the updater wasn't working for me this morning.

Well unfortunatly it is. There's no buildos.msi in there used this link and you can use the older WM6 kitchen and PPCGeeks OEM. It's still good. ftp://ppcgeeks.com/Apache/Kitchens/New/

I was hoping to get the latest 6.1 buildos.msi. It's a shame there were no official mirrors. I've been Googling to see if I can find what IP the DNS used to point to. There's a chance that the server is still running and that its purely a DNS issue.

How old is the WM6 that you have? I guess anything's got to be better than sticking with WM5.

I'm sure the ppcgeek folks are working on it; they were planning on posting some new builds today so I'm sure it's just a matter of time. But I understand wanting to upgrade!!

Re: PPCKitchen.org down... is there a mirror?

well the ip address is or was 67.222.130.153

The web server is working but the ftp is not, so updates do not work. You could download buildos.msi but it wont do any good as the buildos that it installs is expired.

I did a lookup on the ip address and the servers are in carrolton tx. So this might be a problem caused by ike.

Re: PPCKitchen.org down... is there a mirror?

@ UnLeaDed: The WM6 kichen was released last October. But still very good and better than WM6. Some people here might try to tell you different but it is great and more people run WM6/6.1 than WM5 on this phone. WM6 is good. Seems they got the first build more stable the first time than they did in WM6.1

@ fredcatsmommy: It's ppckitchen folks not ppcgeeks, different team. They'll be up soon.

Re: PPCKitchen.org down... is there a mirror?

OK just got into ppckitchen.org and into the chat room. Per justpc-away this is a planned dns change. Not storm damage. not sure how to get updates yet
