3.5 ROM's and Verizon MMS (problems)

I've been testing everybody’s 3.5 ROM, and I must say...wow! What a real improvement from the standard Verizon 2.2.

However, one common theme is that MMS does not work correctly with any of the 3.5 ROMS. The problem that I have is only related to viewing (recieving FLIX messages works), or sending FLIX Messages. The standard Arcsoft application will not view FLIX messages anymore internally (work around is to launch the file with windows media player), and I am not able to compose FLIX messages at all. I get either a "File Format Not Supported" error when I try and compose one directly from the camera, or when I try and manually pick a *.3gp or *.3g2 file from a directory within the composer...it does not list those files, even though I know they are in the directory.

I'm thinking there are serious compatibility issues with the Verizon MMS package and 3.5. Are there any other MMS applications we could use, or is there an update to arcsoft that is compatible?

I really enjoy the FLIX feature on my phone, and I know this has been discussed before...but I haven't seen a post that addressed these issues specifically. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think there are atleast 2 running threads about this problem. i am using 2.2 for this only reason. if u install a rom and dont let verizon install anything, i could get an arcsoft MMS working with flix, but as soon as i softrest, all back to same old thing (the not supporting thing). not sure there are too many people that care about flix cause everytime its brought up, a coupe people say try this, maybe someone will have to look into it, and yet it still doesnt work. thought it might have something to do with a MMS installed when you flash and then another ontop of that. im not close to a programmer so i dont know ebough...id LOVE to get this working. someone wanted to look at the registry and post it, but didnt know how...

and here on his known issues and near the end of the thread...look for my name...

@friguy3

Did you export the registry settings for mms in 2.2? I would like to get them from you so I can compare the settings on 3.5. I'm hoping that there is a difference there that might make it work.

I'm not sure how to do this on that program as I use Resco Explorer. I would imagine that there should be an export feature somewhere in that program.

Just remove the arcsoft mms oem package from the 3.5 kitchen and let the verizon extended rom install, or don't let the verizon extended rom install and selectively run that mms package from extended rom.

kinda understand, but could you explain that a little more. id love to know exactly how to remove it from the kitchen. not sure what else the verizon installation does, but i liked it cause i was told it added some other basic things that didnt take up any real space...true? is there a difference in the 2 MMS programs?

I didn't think the base ROMs came with a mms program. The Verizon mms doesn't work on it either.

I have found a couple of reg keys that were not in the 3.5 ROMs but that hasn't fixed everything yet.

I guess I will need to look at creating my own ROM to see if that works. My wife should love that.
