Gmail issues...

I successfully added one of my gmail account but when i tried to add the one i use for work purposes it always ask me to re-enter my username/password when it tries to check the account. The only thing i can think of causing the issue is that the address has a period before the @ sign so that the email is like such, qwerty.u@gmail Has anyone else had any issues like this?
