Roll back to old bootloader?

Do I need to put an older version of the bootloader on in order to put verizon's original rom back on my 6700? When I tried to put the original rom back on it said error 100 incompatible device. I downloaded the verizon AKU 3.3 upgrade off the utstar site. What else could be wrong. I disabled all firewalls when I tried this. Help. I need to send this phone back, as I received a replacement.

Are you on Vista? Have you tried these ones here http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=27123

Re: Roll back to old bootloader?

I tried one of these also and got a similar error - "error 100: model ID error. The rom image is not designed to work on your device."

Help!!

Re: Roll back to old bootloader?

Just send your device back as it is IMO. They are going to flash it anyway.

IDK but do you have USB disabled in AS?

Re: Roll back to old bootloader?

If you're using XP you shouldn't have to. At least I don't. When I use Vista I have to in Windows Mobile Device Center. Like weedahoe said, just send it back. I asked them if they will ever put WM6 for Apache and the guy said no but there's unofficial upgrades, and they don't really care too much what you put on your device. I'm not sure how much of that is true though.

Re: Roll back to old bootloader?

There's some mismatch between your BL, RUU, or USB connection. I guess I wouldn't spend anymore time on it either. Doubt if they look that closely. What did you turn it in for? Hopefully a major failure and not OS related. LOL.

Re: Roll back to old bootloader?

I went to Verizon to see if I could upgrade to a 6800 or 6900 and they told me I had to wait 8 more months to get a good deal, but "here let's just get you a new 6700." They offered. The speaker is kinda blown anyway. I'm glad I couldn't upgrade. Seems 6900 cracks often. I just put WM6 on the new one and I'm trying to get the tflo cube to work. Always something.

Re: Roll back to old bootloader?

Leave the phone stuck in bootloader and tell them you tried to use the upgrade from UTstarcom and it left your phone at a "weird screen"
