Vista WMDC Issues

I'm having problems syncing my xv6700 with Windows Mobile Device Center. I'm running Vista Ultimate x64. I downloaded the updated USB driver from Microsoft. When I connect, I hear the USB recognition sound. Then I hear another sound and WMDC starts the connection process but then disconnects. It stays connected for about 5 seconds. It does this every time. I have uninstalled WMDC and the driver and reinstalled. The same problem occurs. I am running the clean and simple AKU 3.5 for any Apache. I've tried to connect with RNDIS enabled and also the serial way using the USB toggle application. It only gets the brief connection with RNDIS. I don't have any firewalls other than the Vista firewall. I have tried disabling that and defender with no luck. I've searched the net and this forum (along with pdaphonehome) and can't find a solution to this problem. It seems like WMDC sucks. ActiveSync with XP was much better. Has anyone had this problem and fixed it? Please help!!!!

I have had issues with Flashing my ROM in Vista x86 and 64bit system, with the upgraded drivers. I am currently using the standard ROM 2.70 with Vista x64 and no errors or connection problems. There still maybe several issues with the USB on the 3.5Roms, as I have had flakey connectivity when I use them on my XV6700

I don't know if it is a USB issue as I was able to connect without any problems to ActiveSync 4.5 using Windows XP Pro. Any other suggestions out there?

I'm running vista and mine works fine. I had to download WMDC from Microsoft.com before it worked. But besides that I didn't have to "fix" anything. If internet sharing works then it's WMDC. If not it's more likely your phone. Check it on xp and see if it works now..

If you have questions about my setup let me know

I found the problem but don't know how to fix it. I opened task manager to see what was going on. I had to have WMDC running. In task manager, I see wmdhost.exe start and then wmplayer.exe starts. Wmplayer.exe goes away and my phone remains disconnected. When I was able to manually end the wmplayer.exe process from starting, my phone would connect. Windows Media Player is blocking my phone from connecting. Does anyone know how I could fix this?

I've been dealing with Microsoft WMDC support and brought this to their attention. Let's see what they say.
