Turn on bluetooth when phone on external power?

Hi there,

Does anyone know of a utility to turn on bluetooth when the phone is on external power? If not, is it hard to code this kind of feature into a background program of sorts?

Thanks!

Are you talking about having access to Bluetooth devices when the phone is plugged into the cradle? If so, the functionality is built right into the phone. I frequently have my phone in the cradle while talking on my BT headset.

To turn BT on, just tap the Comm. Manager icon on the Today screen, and then tap the BT icon.

If that's not what you mean, please elaborate.

I am actually looking for a way for the phone to automatically enable bluetooth only if the phone is on external power and turn it off otherwise. I do not wish to have bluetooth on all the time...

Can anyone confirm that PhoneAlarm can do this? I would prefer not to install something new on my phone if it doesn't work... Thanks!

I am not aware of any automated way of doing it.. However Phonealarm will (or can) add a toggle right to your today screen.

Yes this can be done. You need to create a profile that includes bluetooth being switched on. You can then set PA to recognize power or activesync as a toggle to change profiles.
