Cant Recieve Calls Or Texts

i know that there was a similar thread to this but that was specific to his situationa and it did not at all help me. my phone was working fine before i tried to update it here is a list of things that i did to my phone that may help

1. updated to helmi-c's original wm6 update
2. flashed my phone back to the aku 3.5 rom
3. updated the radio to 1.41
4. updated the prl throught verizon

after doing all of this my phone still is stuck in ev-do and is unable to recieve calls or texts until i make a call please if there is any way you can help please do

Here the first thing I think of after I read your post and we all know what is said about the first thought,

You have updated everything and cannot rec'v calls/txt until you make a call. In order to rec'v your calls/txt you have to make a call which polls or authenticates with VZW towers and that to me sounds like a provisioning issue on the server side (VZW side). Does that make sense to you or anyone else?

Sounds like your phone is stuck in EV-DO Only Mode.

Check PST ( #778 ) and at the top left where is says display, change to Modem Settings. Look at HDR Hybrid Preferred. Make sure that is set to Enabled.

You will need to edit PST if HDR Hybrid Preferred is not set correctly.

Dial #778
Click Edit
Password: 000000 (if Verizon)
Change upper left pull-down to Modem Settings (it will say Display at first).
Change HDR to Enabled.
Phone will re-boot.

Then try your calling again.

I had this same issue before and the HDR setting was messed up under Modem Settings.

I know I dont have to do ##778# but just ##778 on mine, but wasnt there some issues with WM6 not working with the ## codes? I cant remember so can someone else tell me?

whenever i press ##778# nothing happens is there any other option or way to fix this

Derrycka79, I am not 100% but fairly close to being sure not being able to do the ## codes was an issue with WM6. I know you have done some things back and forth with your device but are you still on WM6 or have you went back to WM5 yet?

i did go back to wm5 and it didnt work but i flashed it back to wm6 today and i am now recieving calls but i think by reflashing i inadvertantly fixed the problem but i have a much less serious problem my phone keeps making a beeping noise and i dont know why

Your device will beep 3 times when it looses its tower and will beep three more times when it finds the tower again.

Go to Phone -> Menu -> Options -> Services -> Alert and disable it if you dont want it to do that.
