Bricked PPC-6700 - Bell

Hi, I previously update wm5 to wm6, and everything went fine. Used the phone for 1 year no problem.

Now I wanted to upgrade to wm6.1, and I got stuck in bootscreen. I followed some instructions using mtty1.42 but now I'm really stuck.

I can't flash rom with the original UTstarcomm ruu

help!

Is it still in bootloader? Are you using xp or vista?

Re: Bricked PPC-6700 - Bell

I'm using windows XP

orginally it was stuck at bootscreen (splash screen)

then I waited 40 minutes and nothing... so I decided to debrick with those commands.

now it's stuck at bootloader

I believe when I use mtty it flashhed everything and now I have nothing.. I'm only able to stay at bootloader v.204

Re: Bricked PPC-6700 - Bell

i don't know if it's the rom i used, but last time i use any apache rom and it worked.. this time something wrong must've happened...something very wrong. now i'm crying cuz I can't afford to buy a new phone. I really hope there's a way for me to reflash the rom.

I used utstacom's ruu but it gives me an error 100

Re: Bricked PPC-6700 - Bell

Hard reset, download bootloaderfix.rar from ftp. Run it. Then try to reflash while making sure the kitchen is set to 2.04. If that doesn't work try to flash noid.

Re: Bricked PPC-6700 - Bell

i don't know how and where to access the FTP.

another question: I downloaded the kitchen from the website and loaded helmi6.1. when buildOS starts, it gives me 3 errors. I ignored and still installed the new rom. is that why it's bricked?

Re: Bricked PPC-6700 - Bell

No, you probably overloaded the rom (2.04 is smaller than previous versions) and then you used mtty when you just needed to reflash.

You can go to qlinks at the top and select ftp from there if you don't have an ftp client.
