how to set a d/l tone for text message??
 
can someone tell me how to be able to set a tone i downloaded to play when i recieve a text or voicemail. or tell me how to change the folder that the ppc uses to look in for tones.

It's got to be a .wav file...paste it in the windows folder on your device and it'll show up in the list of options for message tones...

so you can use the mp3 or mp4 files??

Okay, I just tried this and it didn't work. It still showed up under only the incoming call options...

You can also use a program like PockeMax PhoneAlarm. That will allow you to use almost any type of sound file.
I use Nero Wave Editor to convert sound files to WAV/MP3/WMA.
WMP has a converter that will change most sound files to WMAs so you can use them as ringtones.

After a soft reset, go to Settings;Personal; Sounds & Notifications->Notifications. Drop down:Messaging: New text message. Check "Play sound" box and in the newly enabled drop down list your WAV file that was put in your PPCs Windows folder should appear.
