mogul rom on apache?

my bud just got his mogul upgraded to wm 6.1 and i was wondering what would happen if i tried to use the mogul update on my 6700(sprint). i have downloaded the kitchen and never can get it to work don't know if it is my vista pc or my phone. but i have used other ruu updates on my vista pc. i just upgraded my radio and it went just fine but everytime i try to use the kitchen i get errors.

You are correct in finding out you cannot use a 6800 ROM on a 6700. There is totally different hardware in there and you are asking for some big trouble by trying to force it to work. If you are geting errors with the Kitchen then you need to post them so we can help you determine why you are getting them and what they are from.

Good luck forcing it on there. I already tried with no luck.

i can open build os choose my file and check my selections. then it will build the rom and read my phone. it will succesfully read my phone information and tell me i am going from whatever to whatever. then i hit the update, the phone goes into bootloader and a few seconds later it says windows has encountered a problem with this program and has to close. i have updated build os and it has no effect.

you need to run build os as an adminstrator just right click on build os and run as admin thts what worked for me

Yeah, Vista is something of a PITA personally. Try running as Admin as said above tis post or use an XP machine and see what you get.

ok, i got it to run and go all the way to the update running it as administrator but now instead of telling me it has stopped working it will give me a "error 201:can't get device data" and ask me to exit. It seems though as soon as it puts it into bootloader it loosed it's connection with the pc.

And it will continue to do that as long as you try to flash a 6700 with a 6800 ROM.

Re: mogul rom on apache?

I am not flashing mogul rom on my 6700. i am using the ppc kitchen (build os-latest version) and the helmi 6.1 rom for the apache on my 6700. i have not tried to load the mogul rom on my phone i was just asking because i was curious. when i was told it would not work i stopped thinking about it. now i am using the right rom for the phone i just can't get the phone to stay connected after it goes into bootloader. i did the radio upgrade just fine, and i did a wm 6 upgrade just fine i just can't get build os working all the way through.

ugh!! i am getting really frustrated](*,) i have an old laptopz(xp) that i downloaded build os to because of everyone saying vista gives u problems and i can't get my phone to sync on that one. my phone tells me you need to install activesync 4.5 or higher and the disc that comes with the 6700 gives you 4.1. so everytime i try to install 4.5 it gives me a missing dll error in the middle of installation........

anyone know what the hell causes my phone to loose its connection when it enters bootloader mode on the vista pc. im about ready to shoot my computer and phone. :violent2:

Titan firmware in the Apache = bad idea in agreeance with the masses IMHO. there are 6.1 ROMs in the site, all you gotta do is go to the one of the custom 6.1 stickys here.

K. So goto the BuildOS folder. Set every executable file in there to "run as administrator". That SHOULD get rid of MOST of your Vista problems. First time I ran BuildOS on Vista I only set the main executable to "run as admin" so when subsequent programs get called Vista throws a monkey wrench in the gears.

Go to Google and type in "download DLL" and there are several sites you can download DLLs from. Ive been there and done that.
