Ring Tone Help

Ok i hope some one can help me with this, because i have been trying for two days and nothing.

I got a specific .midi sound from treo that i want to use for my threaded sms app. I put it in the windows directory. Then i go to Settings, Sounds, pick a palm sms, and go to notifications and the treo sound is just not there. Is there a specific place that i need to put it in, in order for it to show up, or some reg tweak that needs to be done? Any help would be appreciated.

the windows internal midi player is a pile of @$$.

I would reccomend using something like icesun sound recorder and just record the sound playing on your computer. if your savvy with winamp you can just play it and have it dump to a wav file. i would then convert that to a .wma and then drop it in the ring folder.

i to have had weird issues w/ midi's and just gave up. Im sure you can find something cooler than a treo ring though.
