Apache will not dial out after radio upgrade to 1.43.00
 

After upgrading to wm6.1 and then upgrading my radio from 1.41.00 to 1.43.00, I can no longer dial out. Text messages will not send, either.

When I hit send, the signal instantly disappears and its as if the radio has been turned off. Once it comes up "Call Ended" the signal comes back as if nothing is wrong.

I have reflashed the ROM and downgraded the radio back to 1.41.00, and still have the same problem.

I'm a bit skeptical of the "solution" since the english is so poor. The phone was working just fine before I upgraded to the new radio, so there may be reason to stay away from that upgrade until we can figure this out.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

New Information - it appears that if I hit send immediately after it fails at trying to make the call, it will go through. I have managed to reprogram via *228 over verizon's network, but that has not fixed the problem.

It appears that I have to dial the number twice before I can get it to go through...as soon as I change numbers, I have the same problem again.

Since it eventually works, am I right to rule out a hardware problem? I have stripped wm6.1 down a whole lot and nothing seems to change things.

Why not change radio versions back to 1.41 and see if that resolves the issue since after going to 1.43 you first started seeing this happen?

I second weedahoe's idea.

Go back t 1.41 and see if that fixes the issue. Then go from there.

I went to the VZW site and reloaded AKU3.3 :-( Still not working. It'll come on periodically, as I suddenly received two texts a few hours overdue, and the trick of dialing, waiting until it fails, and redialing, still works.

The VZW ROM has the 1.43.00 radio, so it overwrote that again.

I have a pretty good feeling its the hardware, but it seems to me that if it doesn't work, it should never work...since it comes on sometimes, I'm perplexed.

I doubt it has the radio in it. You have to flash the radio seperately, as far as I know.

Thats correct, the flashing of the radio if totally different and seperate of the flashing of the ROM. In other words, flashing the ROM doesnt upgrade or change the radio version.

I switched back to my V3c Razr and it is having the same symptoms...therefore it must be the network having issues and not my phone. I'll post whenever I find out what the deal was.
