I really wish people wouldn't be so demanding. If people asked questions here, that is completely understandable but to demand things is wrong on so many levels. I remember someone posted their ROM and some idiot demanded the kitchen from the maker and he was just offering his ROM - not selling it. The maker had an unfortunate computer issue and didn't have the original files to make the kitchen. He had put hard work into something and offered it in case someone wanted it. The fugnut who demanded it had the person ready to leave as they didn't feel they needed abuse for volunteering. Frankly, people like that ruin it not only for the person who put the effort in making something others could use, they ruin the board for everyone since no one wants to volunteer when they just get dumped on after they put in effort.

Frankly, I'm hoping people within the group develop a dynamic that might help all of us when WM6 becomes an option. Screaming at them because they want to do something right just seems so rude and ignorant, I'm not sure where to begin. This is like getting a free house and b***hing that they should have included cat 6 cabling throughout the house and include maintenance for the lifetime of the house.

Also, keep in mind, the work being done on this unified rom project is THE PROJECT TEAMS WORK! They can do whatever the hell they want with it. It's their time and effort going into the development to make this a stable 99.99% bug free ROM for others to use.

You normally don't want to release what you would feel to be an unready product to the general public. It has the possibility of drastically slowing down ROM development. People would take this, add their own OEMs, those OEMs cause problems and people start submitting spurious bugs which may or may not be related to the base ROM. So the dev team wastes time tracking these things down and ROM development suffers.

They are the ones putting in the work to get a clean, solid and stable kitchen out to the rest of the community. There is no stopping you from putting in the same work to put a kitchen together. I suppose its easier to complain about it than it is to expend the energy on getting a clean rom.

I'll load the ROM as soon as it's available, giving a heartfelt thank you for all the time, effort and trouble put in by the project team to get it out the door. I understand not wanting to release the kitchen until all bugs are worked out, for exactly the reasons luv2chill explained. I'm anticipating this to be the last WM5 ROM I load on my phone, so I don't mind waiting for it to be as close to 100% as the team can manage.

~Despiser

Build one your god damned self if you don't like it. The rest of us are perfectly happy waiting for a bug free, stable ROM to work with. We actually APPRECIATE the work that's being done FOR US!

simmer down people...

Pretty much everyone on this thread, but despiser, is correct. I'm eager to get this kitchen - once everything is sorted out.

I'm sure despiser would be the first friggin whiner when he cooked up a rom and had something fail. This way - the developers can ensure that the bugs are coming from the unified project - and not some moron like despiser cooking crap into it.

I appreciate all the work that's being done on this project! I'm eagerly looking forward to cooking my own ROM from the results of this.

I'm 100% behind the dev team on this and can't wait to see it released... but good things are worth waiting for!

wowsa... you go away for a few days and all heck breaks loose :D

Recap: this is work on a specific rom kitchen intended to be a 'very clean bug free' base kitchen. No other kitchens have been removed, so they're still out there for your personal efforts - you could take the original helmi-c kitchen, for example, and re-do all the various fixes as posted all over this board, and more or less get to where the developers have gotten to, but then you'd be working pretty hard to get what you'll be getting from the development effort, for free, just by waiting...

I've mentioned it before but I'll be happy to volunteer to test, I'm out sick so I'm pretty dang bored.

It work's on my PPC6700, well at least it say's it's on, and waiting for a PC to connect to it over bluetooth.

"Device setup finished. On the PC, connect Bluetooth PAN"

Much better message than the dreaded "Cannot Connect" message.
