upgrade wm5 to wm6

Can anyone tell me how to upgrade from wm5 to wm6? I have 6700 audiovox ppc, through sprint any help would be great. Thanks, I really dont understand how to do this kinda of stuff yet but am trying to figure it out thx.

Go to www.ppckitchen.org It's not official with carriers, that's why Sprint couldn't help.

you are not gong to gain anything from going to to Wm6 and most people have more issues out of Wm6.Just read through some of the thread first and you will see what i mean. Why do you wanna go to WM6 anyway? What are you expecting?

Why are you trying to push him off a cliff? Everyone that goes to WM6 has issues in some form or another. Tell us, did you go to WM6 and if so, what did you gain by going to it. If you have not gone to WM6 then please tell us why you have not.

For one thing, Since I've gone to 6.x I don't have to soft-reset daily from lockups

Secondly, the UI is a hell of a lot faster than 5 at responding.

It came move faster for many reasons. Certain cache can be increases and menu animations disabled to make it respond faster. The tricks are all in the reg tweaks. My WM5 has never locked up nor a BSoD because I use a stable ROM that has been correctly tweaked. Get a stable and well made WM5 ROM and you will not have any issues out of it. There are lots of threads everyday from people having issues from WM6. Im not bashing it but I do try to warn those who are not thoroughly educated on the device and hardware/software internals of it.

But I promise WM6 is not better than WM5 on the 67

Thank you Weedahoe for the honest opinions on this. I am receiving my 6700 shortly and was debating this very issue. I guess I will stick with 5, but can you suggest Roms that I should use with 5? Do roms that increase functionality also increase bugs and lockups? What I really want to do is break the 2GB sd barrier and maybe add some apps. I don't know if overclocking is even possible, I'm pretty new. Any suggestions would be great.

I ran WM6 and 6.1 w/o any true problems... I got a lockup around 2weeks or so... pop a soft reset.. and two more weeks of trouble free use... honestly 6 appears faster.. Have better Bluetooth support... Much better web browsing IMO... plus IOTA reprovision when you want to clone another phones ESN to the PPC..

I run wm6.1 on my 6700. The upgraded pOutlook is probably one of the biggest features. The ability to send and receive html email. not to mention the new features such as setting my out-of-office status and searching my whole inbox through exchange. WM6.1 is simply a superior prodct to 5
