Re: (ASK) How upgrade from WM5 to WM6
I will tell you how if you tell me why you wanna do it. So many people have nothing but a lot of headaches with 3rd party hardware/software after trying to go to WM6 and there is nothing to gain from going there. So tell me why you really wanna upgrade to 6.

because it's green! lol
i've been wanting to do this too to so i've downloaded BuildOS and was having problems loading the Helmi kitchen and that's why I'm here again trying to figure it out. But you bring up a very good question.....does it actually have any additional features that are worth having? I simply figured it would, but actually don't know. |

Re: (ASK) How upgrade from WM5 to WM6
I also tried WM6 and did not like it after a while (slow..etc) and ended up going back to a cooked WM5, which are hard to come by. Spencer is correct WM6 does eat up alot of memory for some reason and that was another reason I went back.
To me its like when people get a new car......"look at me In my new car"...lol....it has just a very min features but anything is better then OEM WM5, over all a cooked clean WM5 rom is just as good and in some cases better, then a custom WM6. Now in these days of the custom WM6 Kitchen, people just upgrade to WM6and never experience the custom WM5 rom. and what they had to offer. As you can tell by my sig, myself (sprint version) and weed (verzion version) still run a very nice WM5 cooked rom, and can run WM5/6 programs with no problems. I noticed you are on Sprint, If you would like to try the Kirvins C/S Rom, shoot me a PM and I will give you the link, and if not no big deal.

Re: (ASK) How upgrade from WM5 to WM6
my only reason that my friend told me the display looks great & it has life time longer than if we use WM5.. is it right?
is it useless if I do upgrading to WM6 or WM6.1 ? |

Re: (ASK) How upgrade from WM5 to WM6
Well anything is better then the stock OEM WM5 and in todays world the only upgrade is 6/6.1
If you are on Sprint and want to try a "Clean/Simple" cooked Wm5 Rom from back in the days send me a PM, if not no big deal. Last edited by Unknown Zone; 06-27-2008 at 03:29 AM. |

Re: (ASK) How upgrade from WM5 to WM6
Youre not helping here... The point is you gain nothing and most ppl have more issues than what it is worth. In words, dont bother upgrading the software if your hardware cannot take advantage of it.

I highly suggest you take this option. WM6 uses no less battery than WM5. There are so many contributing factors to this such as signal, BT/WiFi enabled, battery size/age, backlight, speed (OCing), vibe v/s ring, ECT |

Re: (ASK) How upgrade from WM5 to WM6
Hey I'm kinda new to this whole world of Pocket Software, but I have WM5, wanted to know what a cooked version is? Also if I want, is it easy to install?
