Re: adding sounds for notifications

Just google a .wav sound and save it to the WINDOWS file under MY DEVICE and you can use the sounds right away. ex " Jetsons doorbell .wav file" and save.

We are talking about adding sounds to the notifications list ......and I could not get regular waves to work only by saving them to PCM Wave.

Are you able to do this with just reg waves....cause they would not even show up on the list until they were PCM

Re: adding sounds for notifications

All mine are basic .wav(s) to the best of my knowledge. Ill have to run a CODEC app on them and see what it tells me.

Re: adding sounds for notifications

Sorry guys for all the confussion....I was thinking last night....so this morning i made 3 format audio files same audio file.

Again, the audio file was the same just saved in different formats....

Now I know why I kept hammering on PCM, PCM is the best way to go, the space saved on audio files is huge if you compare the list below again using the same audio file, just saved in a different format.

Wav<---showed up in notification 177 Kb
Wma<---did not show up in notification 57.3 Kb
Pcm<----showed up in notification 44bytes

Re: adding sounds for notifications

What am I missing here.......put your wav files in the windows folder...then assign them to the notification you want from start - settings - sounds & notifications - notifications tab. No regedit necessary.............

( I have WM6. I donno if it's different for WM5 )
