J doing the long way now...found the sprint rom...

sorry jay...........it did the same thing. I was aware of the phone having to be in bootloader mode.........all of the 3.3's and up requires this i beleive. Maybe i'll try it on my laptop instead an see if it works then

after loading this rom, my vibrate doesn't work. I loaded up the original rom from utstarcom and it works, but not with J's. Anyone have a fix?

I loaded J's twice and both times it wouldn't work.

I read somewhere its about the LED's? But it didn't show me how to fix it.
How do i turn on the led blinking back on?

ok no 3 sec to boot screen...so i did that much right...now back to MARIO!! Any last quick instructions...?

Thats so bizzare, i grabbed the rapidshare one, and reflashed our store demo and it went fine, i hope there isnt something deeper going on w/ your handset as they are getting uber rare around here since they got discontinued.

EDIT: nope, the fact that the customization didnt run is GOOD. before you flash to 3.5 now, put that crap we talked about on the root of your ext.rom and then flash!

that is a serious problem. ive seen it before. and its a long process to get them to stop re-appearing... let me walk you through it, its worth it though trust me! and may resolve a lot of the problems your having

~> reflash the latest Sprint ROM onto your phone

after bootup run the apache_ext.rom_unlocker and unlock your ext rom

run the apachehax.cab file to mod the registry to show you your newly unlocked ext.rom

soft reset

delete all of the contents in the ext.rom folder

hard reset, no customization screen should show up now

NOW you can upgrade to AKU 3.5 rom. and your ext.rom will STAY empty

i cant even begin to speculate why this happens and WHERE the hell the phone is storing your ext.rom crap when you delete it. I just know if you never modded your ext.rom prior to aku3.5 and then upgrade to a rom (like mine) that has it unlocked, every hard reset brings it back to its original state.

I have noticed this problem in posts where user has Extrom uhidden but NOT UNLOCKED, and because he/she can see the folder they think it can just be edited without unlocking. Anyways thats what I read.

Also Bjay (JBabey) , what is the CPU-ID.exe for?
Edit: also did you try "SPB Mobile Shell" , it"s a cool today item.

I really think this is a great ROM but wonder if there is a way to utilize the external ROM to hold some of the modifications so that more memory is available for program execution. Also, is there a way to change the default phone dialer backround. I tried the registry edit without success.
