Jeff, just want to say thanks again. I showed the results to co-workers who were suitably impressed, with lots of oohs and ahhs. This build corrected an issue I've been having; no always charging via USB at work or in the car.

Not sure what was causing the USB charging issue, it was bugging me too. I'm glad someone fixed it, I don't think it was me. All I did was get other stuff out of the way.

Me...I am more of a lurker and reader. not much of a poster...but I had to rise from lurkerdom to say thank you, as this ROM transformed my phone to a level that is absolutely the best my phone has ever been. People like you, Jeff, make me think that perhaps humanity might just survive....

Thanks, but most of the credit goes to Helmi, Luv2chill, Colonel and the others who built the kitchen itself. I just tweaked it.

The generic ROM is up.

ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....04_Generic.exe

This is a "NO CARRIER" ROM, and has NO carrier customizations built in. You will likely have to create your #777 EVDO connection yourself. If you don't know how to do that, please don't install this.

Very nice. I'd been running one of the Colonel's updates and kept having to soft reset several times a day. This is much more stable. Three questions/comments :
1) My voicemail at my office sends me emails with the voicemail attached as a WAV. With other ROMs, once the attached WAV was downloaded in Outlook, I could just tap on the attachment link in the message and Windows Media would open and play the voicemail. With this ROM, nothing happens when I tap the attachment link. I have to save it to my SD card and then open it up with Windows Media or TCPMP. Any suggestions?

2) I hate to admit it, but I actually use Transcriber. I've looked around for a CAB to install it and none of the ones I've Googled will actually install. Is there a download that you know of? I've installed a demo version of Calligrapher in the meantime, but it is a memory hog .

3) Just as an FYI, on my Esmertec midlet manager does not allow me to use my finger to navigate with Opera Mini installed. I installed the jmm.exe one and it works fine.
