I still don't understand why they would give in to pressure?? IF they don't, what are the customers going to do???? exactly what they want??? buy the 6800 in order to get the upgrade???

From a buisness standpoint, it still doesn't make sense, even with demands from current owners.... pressure from forums and emails is usually disregarded... not only in PDA devices forums, phone forums, but automotive forums as well... it is not seen as a large enough group compared to the total number of owners that actually exist and do not even realize they can get a new ROM.

I don't have time to bicker, Psychotic. If you doubt what I am saying, contact UTStarcom leadership (oh wait, you can't... I can), read Engadget Mobile (easy), read PhoneNews.com (even easier). They all confirm what I am saying.

Am I saying AKU 3 will finally be released? No, things can happen. UTStarcom could go Chapter 11 tomorrow. But the current state of affairs is that UTStarcom has committed to AKU 3. That is what they said to me directly, that is what they said to everyone else in the media.

Yikes!!!

Differing opinions..... as well as debating, is not BICKERING. You can act like you know everything, and perhaps you do, but when you degrade yourself by refering to different views as bickering, you show a lower level of maturity. I would be glad to see an official release, very glad. If I based my opinion on what I wanted, I'd say you are 100% right... but I have my doubts, and clearly explained why. It does not make buisness sense. I'm sorry that you can believe anything you read and refer to a differing view as bickering. I was never asking for YOUR time anyways. If your time is so important, do something important, and stop wasting away your precious time surfing the internet.

As well, I'd love to see the engadgetmobile write-up about this official release....

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/0...he-underworld/

this is all I could find

Christopher Price 03-22-2007 04:49 AM

I was referring to...

http://www.phonenews.com/content/view/1817/1/

And...

http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/0...oing-to-be-la/

Both articles are long after the emails that you posted from UTStarcom... just like I said they were...

Misinformation, like the kind that you are putting out Psychotic, opens the door for people at UTStarcom to kill an update. That is why I am making you stop repeating old information. That is worth my time, but if you won't take the time to Google, read the information I suggest, or consider who I am in the industry... it quickly becomes idle bickering.

psychotic 03-22-2007 04:51 AM

I've been talking about sprint the entire time...... did you miss that?

Wait, me being wrong about something will kill the update release???

And honestly, since none of this has happened. you do not know what information IS misinformation. the email, if you read.. says there will not be an update for the SPRINT phones... i believe that is still correct.

Christopher Price 03-22-2007 04:57 AM

While the Engadget Mobile article was specific to Verizon, the PhoneNews.com article was not. We expect most, if not all carriers to pick up AKU 3.

But, that's not the point. Once one carrier picks up AKU 3, it can be uploaded to the ROM Kitchen, and you'll see that same ROM available on Sprint, Alltel, etc. All we need is HTC to issue it for Verizon, and then it will be available (at the very least) unofficially to everyone else.

Again, Psychotic, have a little faith that everyone around you isn't insane. You're living up to your name these past few days. :)

psychotic 03-22-2007 04:58 AM

I'm not saying you're insane.... but you've circled this verizon release, back to an unofficial release for sprint. Which was my opinion from the beginning, sprint will not update.

Still. despite my name, you're really  mature
