Also what is the change "contact button" as in what button and what was it not doing in other roms?

Good job on the solution BTW, this is in no means a put down for the fix, just figured it would be a grat place to ask these questions as it will most likley be read by a lot of people wanting these

Agree with you 100% SAridnour. I too only use VC for dialing (I actually turned smart dialer off in prior akus).

the concacts issue is something that was a side effect of verizonguy's fix. This one will allow the left softkey to work if i understand correctly. Working on getting it flashed to test now.

well i'm ambivilent about it, but it is seen by a wide part of the community as a MUST have, and with out it their has been, how to put it, a lot of bi***ing.

So.. I'm a perfectionist and worked on it rather than contribute to the bi***ing.

By the way, we all owe Verizon guy a big thank you, cause it was his work i used to lead me in the right direction.

While I rarely use it too, I do believe that it is important to have it working for base roms. It can be disabled in custom roms, but I believe the "masses" would like to have it there.

I agree completely, although I might be leaving the masses soon...starting to love VC and I can thank you colonel for putting it in your custom ROMs... (should I just send you the $40 bill? )

For 2 reasons:
1. It's broken, and the technical purist in me insists that it be fixed.
2. I use voice dialing for a few contacts and while in a physical location where I have some privacy and it's quiet enough. I do consulting, am usually on a client site, and honestly would feel like too much of a geek talking to my phone!

Hahaha...I am in consulting as well and the client around me is giving me funny looks as I am "speaking" more than I have...

Question to everyone about the ## codes. I noticed in this rom when they are dialed i'll use ##778# as the example. It loads up as expected, but when i hit cancel the phone app still shows connected like it dialed a number. I never really do much with the ## codes so i was just wondering is this normal behavior?

I agree with you guys as I too was trying to get it working in my rom "for the masses". I was just making sure I wasn't missing something that I was unaware of.\
As with many things in WM, some fetures just aren't used by everybody and can be overlooked when ROM building.

Side question for Colonel and jamesus, Is media player working in your VC implemnentation? (Col. did you use my posted VC keys for your ROM?) I recently discoverd that I missed a couple in regaurd to media players voice navigation. If you can load, "pause" and "next track" WMP by voice, you have them. If not let me know and Ill get you the updated keys.

Beyond being a perfectionist and the fact that many still use it, there could be consequences to other apps that interact with this stuff. I don't know if they are all related but there was a broader problem with accessing contact with Windows Live Search, and ID Transfer e.g. to access contacts.

Sfaure, have you tried Windows Libe Search, specifically, the map by contacts feature?
