verizon to bell?

Hello,
I am wanting to change my verizon 6700 to be used in canada. MTS to be more specific.
I upgraded to WM6 using the generic and after it was done, the verizon stuff loaded.
I tried to load the Bell, but it came up as wrong location code.
does anyone know how I might change the location code and then load the bell WM6 upgrade? There is a company in town that can flash other cells to the MTS tower lists but they say the PPC 6700s can't be done (they tried once and it did not work) I do not like to give up so easily. I am a bit new at this end, but am a quick study. just need to know what programs to look for and what changes to make. I read I can change the location and tower info using registry tool, does this sound right? if so,,, help??
