how to flash in bootloader mode

ok i'm a newb and must suck at searching because i can't figure this out. only thing i have seen is to put it in bootloader mode and then run the program. when i run the program it doesn't find my phone being connected. help please

on a side note would this help with the error 120 country id code that i am having problems with or no?

I'm assuming it's connected via USB to the (windows 95,NT,XP) PC you are using?

Also I'm assuming that ActiveSync is working properly on that same machine?

i am using xp and usb and activesync works when in regular mode but it doesn't recognize it in bootloader mode.

Does it switch to USB from Serial when you plug it in?

and when you say, doesn't recognize, does XP ask you to install drivers, or just leave it alone?

it says usb but xp doesn't say anything when i plug it in

kept screwin around with it and got it to work. i took out my sd card so i don't know if that helped and i switch the usb port it was in. thanks for the help though
