What's the latest PRL Version for PPC 6700?

luv2chill - i'm glad you took my remark lightheartedly, i wasn't meaning it any other way. and I agree with you that your point needed to be made. I know a little about what it does but i do have the time to waste, lol, and i like having the newest and coolest (although i'm not sure if having the latest prl is cool, but whatever).

i tried to update and its still saying i have plr_20225. Use the same instructions as the manual prl install right?

What method did you try to update with? There are three:

1. Call *2 to get flagged, call *2 again to receive update (may take several calls to receive--try soft reset in between tries)

2. Unzip the file attached to my last post, put 20226.prl file on your phone, type ##PRL# via the phone pad, put in MSL and select the 20226.prl file, then soft reset.

3. Unzip the file attached to colonel's post, copy cab to device, execute cab, soft reset.

Oh, and FYI for any non-Sprint users reading THIS IS FOR SPRINT ONLY. IF YOU AREN'T USING SPRINT THEN DON'T USE ANY OF THIS!!

I'm having a lot of trouble installing it too. I installed 20225 via the manual method and the only problem I had with it was I wasn't waiting long enough to reset for it to take affect. When I tried installing 20226 I installed the cab to the device then soft reset. After it restarted it froze my ppc. I had to reset 3 times before I could get it to where it wouldn't freeze. Then I ran ppst.exe and waited 4 minutes (yes exactly 4 minutes, i made sure) before I reset. When I did I still had 20225. I'm running colonel's 3.3beta3 btw.

dannzeman - Do you know your MSL? Try using method 2 and see if that works (worked for me). I've read other people having problems with the cab file method. Not sure why.

isn't one of the problems with the cab file that before you reset you have to wait "i don't know how long" or something like that? It will disable the phone radio for a while that's how ya know it's working, but then do some playing around before the soft reset just to give it time to work. Also you can try it a second time. I haven't tried this prl yet though so i guess it could have a different issue.

I have always had difficulty with EVDO PRL updates. On the Treos I have had, the over the air always worked but with my Apache, it has been very difficult.

I always use method 2 with the manual PRL update process.

I use to use the corolada PRL page to download the PRL. This page has the Verizon PRL's as well as other carriers.

I don't notice any differences when upgrading here in Minneapolis..but why not do it anyways?

Yeah I sent the file to corolada earlier today so they should have it posted soon.

And yeah, until the file gets analyzed (sometimes that takes a while) then we don't know what the changes are. So if you want to try it, no harm. It's just that most people won't benefit--maybe a bitter better odds than playing the lottery , but zero cost (other than your time).
