20226 was released on 2/16/07. For now the only way to get it is to call *2 and speak with a representative. Tell them you wish to have your account flagged for a PRL update. Give them your mobile phone number if they ask for it. Then when they've done it, tell them thank you ( ) and hang up. Call *2 again and you should get a prerecorded message saying that a free update to your service is needed. Stay on the line until you are told that the process is complete (it is just a timed pre-recorded announcement, but still...). Then hang up and check your PRL version under settings->device information. If it says 20225 still, then try a soft reset and look again. If it still says 20225 then you will need to call *2 back and try again (you don't have to ask for it to be flagged again--it will stay flagged until the PRL successfully downloads). Sometimes it can take a few calls before it works. Make sure you're in a good signal area when calling.
None of this is of any earth-shattering importance though. PRLs mainly deal with roaming settings so it's not a big deal for most people. |

Though I realize your remark was meant lightheartedly, I do want to make a point. I think there are quite a few people here who have no idea what a PRL is and does, and attach it much more importance than it really deserves. There is kind of this mythology surrounding the PRL, and I'm just trying to put it in proper perspective. It controls who your phone will roam with, and in 99% of cases it adds very localized changes in specific markets. Most people will not see any benefit from a PRL update, so I advise not wasting time on it unless you have the time to waste .
That said, I upgraded to 20226 earlier today (partly just to prove to myself that the new PRL was available). In the meantime, someone over at Sprintusers dumped it out of their A920. I fixed it to conform to the .prl format and am posting it here for you to do with what you please. You can flash it yourself with ##PRL# but your MSL is required to do that. I'm sure someone will eventually incorporate it into the PPST cab that can apply it to your phone without you having to enter the MSL. Enjoy! |

I just renamed the 20226 prl to 20224 and put it in the Sprint cab. Have fun.
