This should be added to your custom rom application list...

notify.exe (but I don't have a link handy!)

If you have a link to this application please let us know where it is...

I don't know about you, but on my PPC-6700 I've already lost one 2GB flash card from it popping out without me knowing - I don't plan to lose another!

This little application will throw your phone into freak-out mode if the mini-SD card is removed (or falls out). The alerting methods are fairly customizable and it will play your selected alert .wav file regardless if the phone is muted or not. I have mine set to play a very annoying alert file as loud as possible, AND vibrate, indefinitely until I either press the "STOP" button or reinsert the card.

I'll never lose my mini-sd card again.

bleh... sometimes I like to pull out that SD card and pop it into the SD-to-USB adapter I have for it. Taping it off isn't a good (or attractive) solution for me.

I think it depends on what else you have going on. I test it ocassionally (by popping out the card) and it works 99% of the time.

When I was testing the colonel rom here, it was having some ocassional conflicts.. but I'm not sure why. Even then it was still working most of the time.

Heck, sometimes I will slide the stylus across the top of the mem card, and see how far I can shoot it across the office. I think the record is about 6 ft with the card, and 10 ft with the blank that comes with the phone

I wonder if I could put in a heavier spring and get over 15 ft!! No, Seriously, I wonder if I could remove the spring to stop the lift all together... I rarely take it out, and I could always grab the top with my nails if I had to...
