What am I doing wrong!?
 

So I read the stickies, and think I had everything figured out. I want to go to wm6.1.

I have a Verizon PPC6700, bootloader v1.04.

I downloaded BuildOS and got everything downloaded\updated with the updater.

I connect the phone to my computer and it connects to activesync, I select everything I want from the kitchen, build my Rom and go to upload it. It goes through all the steps but when it gets to the part to actually flash my phone turns off, activesync disappears, and I get connection failure error 260.

Negative, I tried putting it in bootloader mode, but then the PC doesnt identify it at all.

BTW: PC is XP SP3, no problems (aka virsus' spyware etc)

Serivice Pack 3? Wow i must be behind the times. Close Active syce, Next time you go to flash hold down RECORD, POWER and SOFT RESET. Hold for 2-3 seconds and let go. Then connect and let it do its thing. The computer shouldnt say anything when you connect it. Mine didnt and it worked fine.

SP3 is kinda lame no real changes....

I got the phone flashed, before I did so I backed up my old pim.vol as it contains my contacts i was told.

I need to replace the current pim.vol with my new one however its write protected, any hints on that?

is this a pim.vol from wm5 if so it won't work in 6.1 you'll need to reflash to a wm5 rom and restore it then backup your contacts using the software found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299705
and yes i know it say wm2005 but it works in wm5 and 6.1

It just came out on Windows Update last nite. I was afraid to install 'cuz these kind of updates have a negative effect on Activesync syncs. I was wondering if Engmus had had a successful flash before the upgrade and now after the upgrade it is not working. Also, Engmus, can you do a normal sync with the phone? If not, may have to remove/remake USB partnership. Pleez let me know 'cuz I was planning on doing the 30 minute upgrade this weekend. Unfortunately, I don't trust Microsoft 100% on their updates not screwing up your computer....

Neither do i. I think ill stick to service pack 2 for now.
