Same here. Turns it off for me too.

Does O2 have to be in startup? I took it out and reset, but still seem to have all O2 functionality.

Data Service Constantly On

I did an upgrade to 3.5.8 on Friday. Now I notice that the Data Service is always on. The signal strength icons with the bars constantly have the double arrows to indicate data service. Prior to the update, the arrows only show when I use IE or it's checking email.

I reflashed without setting up any email servers or programs, basically it's "virgin." The arrows do not show up until I start an internet app like IE and then it just stays on until I soft reset the 6700 and don't launch any internet app.

I have a coworker who has the same setup with version 3.5.3 of the ROM and he does not have the arrows constantly on.

Problem: I cannot receive any phone calls while the data service is active. I can make outgoing calls after a short delay.

Please help. Thanks in Advance

Out of the blue... after working fine for a week, WiFi won't connect.
Deleted settings and tried to reconnect fresh, but no joy. It just keeps on saying "connecting".

Anyone else see this?

UPDATE: Of course not. I reset my router and that was apparently the culprit.
Feel free to ignore.

ducttape, which carrier are you on. If it is not Sprint, did you let your Extrom run?

hmmm, you should not need the Extrom with the latest 3.5.8 since it is built into the rom. Try flashing with the blank ms_.nbf that is in the zip package.

I did reflash with the blank ms.nbf as you suggested. It still has the arrows.

So I redownloaded the Sprint 3.5.7 and reflashed it again with just the contents of the 3.5.7.zip. Yup same thing, the data service is always active.

The arrows will always be there because of the "Push Technology". However, you should still be able to get calls due to the EvDO ring through that came about in the Sprint Official upgrade.

Just because the arrows are there does not mean that there is active data being transmitted. I am not sure why your coworker can have his arrows turn off. Mine are always there after the first time I connect to data.

Ok, maybe I just didn't notice that they were always active before. Thanks for the help and a great ROM.

Thanks

Truly excellent news as I always liked your rom as a base and mod from there.
